Jordan Trunner LX
The brand Jordan has grown from basketball courts and the collaboration between Nike and Michael Jordan. From its training archive come the women's sneakers Jordan Trunner LX. The name itself reveals that it's a blend of training and running shoes. Today, though, you mainly wear them in the city, where their sporty line adds energy to your outfit. The black colorway easily matches anything in your wardrobe while maintaining a distinctive character.
The textile upper is pleasantly lightweight and fits well, so you can wear these sneakers for longer walks. The rubber outsole provides solid grip on pavement and wet asphalt. The low cut allows freedom for your ankle and pairs well with leggings, wide jeans, or sweatpants with contrasting socks. The bulkier shape with a layered upper recalls 90s trainers, making it perfect for an oversized hoodie or a cropped jacket. The Jumpman logo, depicting Michael Jordan in mid-air, remains a signature on Jordan sneakers, reflecting their athletic heritage.
Jordan Trunner
Pioneering crossover, retro-futuristic design, and uncompromising training DNA - Jordan Trunner
The Jordan Trunner model line represents a fascinating chapter in the history of Jordan Brand available at Footshop. When you hear Jumpman, most people think of the court and iconic basketball silhouettes. However, the Trunner series (a blend of the words Training and Running) burst onto the scene at the turn of the millennium, marking the brand's first foray into the running and cross-training shoe segment. At Footshop, we highlight this model line as a hidden gem for sneaker purists and lovers of Y2K aesthetics, who seek unconventional, aggressively shaped silhouettes with undeniable technological pedigree.
Born at the turn of the millennium: When training met avant-garde streetwear
The first model from this line debuted in 2000 and immediately caused a stir. Instead of traditional lacing, it opted for a revolutionary elastic strap system, an interwoven upper, and a futuristically shaped sole with chrome details. Jordan Brand achieved the impossible: creating a shoe so technologically advanced that elite athletes trained in it, while also being visually bold enough to become an instant favorite among hip-hop icons of the time.
Today's reincarnations and modern successors of the Trunner series (such as the Trunner Ultimate or Trunner Advance) carry on this legacy. For Footshop, this line is key as it perfectly aligns with the current trends of tech-wear and gorpcore – massive, textured midsoles and layered uppers look absolutely confident on urban asphalt.
Innovative cushioning and uncompromising stability
The Jordan Trunner model line is designed to handle extreme loads, dynamic direction changes, and hard impacts. Each model in this family incorporates the best technologies from Nike/Jordan:
-
Responsive Flightspeed and Zoom Air cushioning: Specially designed cushioning pods under the heel and toe that absorb shocks and instantly return energy for each subsequent push-off.
-
Diamond Cage: A specific design and stabilization element on the midsole that securely locks the heel and midfoot during sharp lateral movements.
-
Breathable and lightweight upper: A combination of one-piece technical mesh and synthetic overlays ensures that the shoe breathes well and fits snugly like a sock.
For styling at Footshop, we recommend pairing the Jordan Trunner with technical materials like nylon or Gore-Tex. They work great with cargo pants, oversized tracksuits, or shorts with high socks. If you're looking for sneakers that stand out from the crowd of classic retro basketball models and bring a sharp, industrial vibe to your wardrobe, the Jordan Trunner line is the right choice for you.
Materials
In the history of sneakers, there is perhaps no more successful collaboration between a sneaker brand and an athlete than in the case of Michael Jordan and Nike. From the union of these two concepts came a legend in the form of Air Jordan in 1984. These sneakers were initially worn exclusively by the legendary thirty-three, however, within a few months of their introduction, Jordans were also in the hands of the public.
The legend in the form of the Air Jordan 1
The Air Jordan 1, which Michael first put on more than thirty years ago, is now one of the most popular silhouettes among sneakerheads. But the beginnings weren't exactly easy. In 1985, the most famous basketball player in history was banned from wearing Jordan 1 shoes because they didn't meet the prescribed game dress code, according to the NBA . To make matters worse, he would have to pay a $5,000 fine for every game he wore them.
This, of course, wouldn't be the seasoned Nike, which had a proper respect for its workhorse. Rather than risk the recall of this Jordan sneaker, it was decided that the company would rather cash in any such fine to Michael just so he could wear the J's as they were. The pinnacle of healthy audacity was an ad for just the Air Jordan 1 shoe called "banned." It featured, among other things, the legendary line, "The NBA threw them (Air Jordan 1) out of the game. Unfortunately the NBA can't stop YOU from wearing them".
New era, new Jordans
Time moved on, and as the years passed, so did more Jordan shoes. After the legendary 1s came the 2s, then the 3s, and by 2000 the number of new silhouettes had climbed to 15. Today, there are many more, and more models are still being added. However, even though these are far from being some worthless pieces, the glory of their first retro models is hardly matched by the new Jordan shoes aka Jordans .
Nike Jordan shoes have already entered their fourth decade of existence. Unlike a lot of other brands, Jordan sneakers have never strayed from their pre-marked path, that is to produce basketball sneakers for top athletes. But from the street basketball courts and gym floors, Air Jordan shoes have moved in a big way to the city streets as well. Among other things, the popularity among fashion and sneaker fans is also due to their popularity among the world's music stars, who do not hesitate to wear Jordan sneakers to concerts, fashion events and the most prestigious music awards.
What about you? Do you like the logo of the legendary Jumpman? If so, then don't hesitate to explore our wide assortment, where you will find all kinds of Air Jordan shoes in a great variety of colours!
