Technical evolution of summer footwear with reference to Californian roots - UGG Goldenglow
The UGG Goldenglow represents a technological pinnacle in the lifestyle sandal category. At Footshop, we see this silhouette as the result of decades of evolution for a brand that has made its way from the beaches of Australia to laboratories focused on sustainable innovation. The Goldenglow isn't just an aesthetic accessory; it's a highly functional piece of footwear designed with biomechanics of walking, durability of materials and environmental footprint in mind. If you're looking for technical superiority in a package that defines contemporary streetwear, this is your standard.
From sheepskin to technological polymers
The story of UGG began in 1978 in Southern California, when Australian surfer Brian Smith brought sheepskin boots to a community that loved freedom and relaxed style. While the first decades belonged to winter models, the 21st century forced UGG to radically innovate. The Goldenglow model is a direct successor to this evolution - retaining the DNA of comfort but swapping wool for progressive synthetics and biodegradable materials. It's a shoe that reflects the shift from "house shoe" to a technical outdoor-lifestyle hybrid that can handle the demands of the modern metropolis.
Technology for your all-day grind
UGG has spared no expense on innovation with the Goldenglow. Your comfort is taken care of with an anatomically shaped insole and soft padding on the straps that eliminates any chafing. A sole with a more aggressive grip will hold you up on any surface, from festival mud to marble pavement. At 25, you already know that style can't hurt - and these sandals are built so you can spend 16 hours straight in them and not even know it by nightfall. It's a functional design that's not afraid to be the center of attention.
Functional design for the urban outdoors
While visually the Goldenglow relies on chunky volume, functionally it's a "city-ready" sandal with outdoor credentials. The sole features a deep tread for optimal traction on wet surfaces, making them the perfect choice for summer storms or festival terrain. At Footshop, we recommend this shoe to those who appreciate the form-follows-function approach. The Goldenglow is a technical tool for the summer season, combining the heritage of surf culture with the material engineering of 2026.
Materials
Textile: The textile upper of the sneakers is lightweight, breathable and comfortable, ideal for everyday wear and sports. It ensures air circulation, keeps feet fresh and adapts to their shape. Often complemented with synthetic or rubber details for durability and support.
Syntetika: The synthetic upper is made of synthetic materials that are lightweight, durable and easy to clean. It provides good protection against moisture and at the same time allows for a comfortable wearing experience.
EVA: (Ethylene vinyl acetate) is the most widely used midsole material, valued for its extreme lightness and excellent cushioning capabilities. This foam structure contains thousands of microscopic air bubbles that effectively absorb shock and protect the musculoskeletal system. It is highly flexible, resistant to stress cracking and easily moldable, allowing manufacturers like adidas or Altra to create specific zones of support. It represents the ideal standard for soft impact and comfort in sports and everyday wear.
EVA: The most widely used cushioning material in the footwear industry worldwide. It is a lightweight, elastic polymer that is inserted in the form of foam into the midsoles of sports and leisure shoes. This foam contains thousands of microscopic air bubbles that act as miniature shock absorbers. The EVA material is especially valued for its ability to effectively absorb shock on impact while providing a soft, comfortable feel with every step. Its versatility has made it the standard from which all modern cushioning systems are derived.

Proizvod je ispunio sve moja očekivanja
UGG Rollers. A dirty word to some, the best winter boots in the world to others. The UGG brand has literally divided the world into two camps. How did it do it? In 1978 in California, Australian Brian Smith noticed that surfers were quickly putting on the iconic surf boots after getting out of the water to warm up from the icy ocean. One day he discovered that it might actually make a good (not just) winter shoe if made from merino wool. In fact, sheepskin and wool were commonly used in Australia to make boots because of their thermal insulation properties - cooling in the summer, warming in the winter, as well as absorbing odours and moisture. So Brian used his knowledge from his homeland; he discovered that no one in the world made such shoes, so he set to work. UGG Boots became very popular. But their biggest boom came when Oprah Winfrey included them in her list of favourite things and suddenly the whole world had to have them, including stars like Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna and Gigi Hadid. Since a certain time UGG doesn't only make roller shoes anymore, but also makes slippers, sandals and has wandered into the apparel waters. They try to make the collections creative, trendy, also focusing on quality workmanship and the right choice of materials. So if you're not a fan of roller shoes, there are other pieces that will make a great addition to your shoe closet.
It's also worth mentioning that UGG makes their collections of shoes and clothing with respect for their employees and our planet. In 2016, the brand also joined the United Nations Global Compact, ranked as the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world. What does this mean? All members strive to promote changes in business to minimize the environmental impact of production. This is something we're a fan of and we're delighted to have another brand in Footshop for whom sustainability and environmentalism is not just a buzzword.
