New Era Cotton Shorts
It's warm outside, you have a free afternoon, and you want to head out without overthinking your outfit. That's when the women's cotton shorts from New Era come in handy. Just throw them on, add a t-shirt and some sneakers, and you're good to go. The colorful design adds a playful touch to a simple look with a hint of sporty vibe.
The shorts are made from cotton that feels great on the skin and breathes well, so you can stay comfortable all day long. The mid-rise waist provides a balanced silhouette that pairs well with a crop top or a looser t-shirt tucked in. You can stash your phone or keys in the front pockets, so you don't need to carry a bag. Among women's shorts, this is a versatile piece for walks, café visits, or trips out of town. New Era was founded in 1920 in Buffalo, USA, and is best known for its caps. Today, it’s the official cap supplier for Major League Baseball (MLB), bringing that same sporty spirit into its clothing.

The story of the market leader in caps and sportswear began in 1920. A German immigrant and skilled craftsman named Ehrhardt Koch sensed an opportunity to redesign and change the fashion headwear industry. So he borrowed money from his sisters to get it started and started a company in New York called New Era Cap Co. Back then, baseball wasn't in such a heyday. It wasn't until around 1932 that baseball started to gain popularity. Two years later, New Era won a big contract for the Cleveland Indians and the first baseball cap was born. It didn't take long before New Era was the only company making caps for the teams in the MLB's top baseball league, which are still part of every team's uniform today. It was also during this time that the iconic baseball cap received a revamp and you know it today as the 59FIFTY.
In the 80's, a turning point occurred and New Era caps didn't just distribute caps to sports teams, they started selling them to sports fans as well and the boom in baseball caps and baseball cap wearing was on. Everyone wore them, even those who were not baseball fans or did not live in a city or state where baseball was played. As the New Era expanded in the early 00's, it became popular all over the world and now there is no one who doesn't have at least one cap with the New York Yankess logo in their home.
Today, New Era has over 500 licenses to use the logo, including NBA, MLB, NHL and NFL teams, and has become the exclusive manufacturer and retailer of team caps. At Footshop, you'll find mostly Major League Baseball team caps and apparel , but also Chicago Bulls or Los Angeles Dodgers team-themed apparel and caps.
The most popular cap styles include the New Era 9Forty or New Era 9Fifty. But you can't go wrong with a New Era 39Thirty or a kulich.
