Karhu Fusion XC WP
Men's Sneakers Karhu Fusion XC WP keep you dry, even when the weather turns and the sidewalk becomes a big puddle. The Fusion XC WP model is rooted in the running tradition of the Finnish brand, and the WP abbreviation reveals its waterproof construction. You can wear them in the city or on an easy walk outside without worrying about wet socks. The combination of Tarmac/Dark Gull Gray shades is calm and easy to match with most of your wardrobe.
The upper combines synthetic materials, textile, and leather, ensuring the shoe retains its shape and withstands daily wear. The Fulcrum technology in the midsole aids in a smooth foot roll, while the Air Cushion softens every step on hard asphalt. The rubber outsole provides good traction on various surfaces, and reflective elements enhance your visibility as dusk falls. The low cut allows freedom for your ankle, and laces are included. You can pair them with cargo pants, jeans, or a technical jacket. Karhu was founded in 1916 in Helsinki, and its name means bear in Finnish. Over more than a century, it has built a reputation for combining athletic heritage with everyday comfort.
Karhu Fusion XC
Finland's answer to rough terrain and urban asphalt - the Karhu Fusion XC
The Karhu Fusion XC represents the ultimate fusion of the brand' s historical heritage and modern functional demands. While Karhu's classic models tend to reign supreme on the streets, the XC (Cross-Country) version has been designed with harsher conditions and unpredictable weather in mind. This silhouette draws inspiration from the Finnish brand' s rich archive, specifically from the days when Karhu dominated the world of cross-country skiing and the outdoors. The result is a sneaker that retains the iconic retro aesthetic of the 90s, but adds technical elements that will hold you up when you go off the beaten path. It's a shoe for those who don't want to choose between style and durability.
Technical supremacy in a high-end Gorpcore design package
What makes the Fusion XC a standout piece is its uncompromising equipment. At the heart of the shoe is the proven Fulcrum technology in the midsole, which ensures stability and a smooth tread, even on uneven terrain. The key element, however, is protection - selected versions feature a waterproof HydroGuard membrane and rubberised perimeter lining that protects the upper from mud and moisture. The outsole with an aggressive T-Profile pattern guarantees maximum grip on slippery surfaces. This makes the XC version the ultimate choice for fans of the Gorpcore trend who are looking for a shoe that looks great with technical jackets and can also handle unexpected rain or more challenging urban exploration.

The Finnish bear that defined modern running and premium streetwear - Karhu
If you're looking for a combination of deep history, Nordic minimalism and uncompromising functionality, Finnish brand Karhu is the right choice for you. Founded back in 1916 in Helsinki, its name translates to "bear". In more than a century of existence, Karhu has grown from a small workshop to a sports icon that is now loved not only by professional athletes, but also by sneakerheads and fashion lovers around the world. At Footshop, we bring you a selection of the best that this Finnish gem has to offer.
A history full of innovation and the legendary "three stripes"
The Karhu brand has always been a pioneer. Few people know that it was the Finns who originally owned the iconic three stripes logo. However, in 1952, they sold it to adidas for a sum that today would be equivalent to approximately 1,600 euros and two bottles of good whisky. This moment allowed Karh to focus on its own technological development. The result was the revolutionary Fulcrum system in the 1970s. This technology doesn't just use cushioning, but directs the body's energy forward, making movement more efficient - a principle the brand has perfected to this day, making their trainers some of the most comfortable shoes on the market.
Who wears Karhu and why are they style icons?
Sneakers with a bear in the logo are not just about performance, but about a distinct taste. They are for those who value "quiet luxury" and quality over fleeting hype. The brand has earned an unwavering position among creatives, designers and urban style curators who appreciate authenticity and the fact that Karhu doesn't walk with the crowd. Models like the Aria 95 with its integrated sock design or the iconic Karhu Fusion 2.0 are now a must-go for anyone looking for premium materials like soft suede, breathable mesh and unique color palettes inspired by Finnish nature.
Technological superiority and Nordic design
In addition to the aforementioned Fulcrum system, the Karhu also uses Ortix Fit technology, which is based on thousands of foot scans to ensure a perfect anatomical fit. Whether you choose the Fusion 2.0, which references the 90s hiking aesthetic, or the minimalist Synchron Classic with their unconventional toe lacing, you're getting a shoe with soul. At Footshop, we see the Karhu as a bridge between sporting heritage and modern urban luxury. It's a shoe for those who want to stand out from the crowd with authenticity and tradition that has survived generations.
