Polartec®: Synonymous with high-end synthetic insulation materials that have revolutionized the layering of outdoor clothing. It is not a single material, but a whole family of technical fabrics, the most famous of which is fleece. A key characteristic of Polartec materials is their ability to trap body heat in a low-weight environment while remaining extremely breathable and quick-drying. In footwear, Polartec (often in Alpha or Power Dry versions) is used as a lining to provide thermal comfort without unnecessary bulk, effectively wicking moisture away from the skin and keeping feet warm even in freezing conditions or high activity.
Pertex® Quantum: This technology uses a precisely woven structure of extremely fine fibres to create a lightweight and soft material. This structure allows the insulation (both down and synthetics) to achieve full loft for maximum thermal performance. The dense weave effectively blocks wind and increases abrasion resistance. The material is highly packable and durable, making it an ideal choice for high-end outdoor gear.
100% Polyamid: Synthetic fiber that excels in exceptional mechanical resistance, tensile strength, and elasticity. Compared to polyester, polyamide is much more abrasion-resistant, making it an ideal material for high-stress areas of outdoor clothing, backpacks, and sports accessories. Its structure is very fine and smooth to the touch, with the ability to dry very quickly. Polyamide is often used for making lightweight windbreakers, swimwear, and compression garments, as it holds its shape well and is resistant to biological influences (molds and bacteria). In modern sustainable fashion, we increasingly encounter its recycled form, which gives new life to old fishing nets and industrial plastics.

Tilak is a Czech legend in outdoor clothing, proving that even a small country can produce a brand with global quality. It was founded in the 1980s as a project of Roman Kamler, an enthusiast who started out sewing sleeping bags and gradually worked his way up to producing high-end technical clothing for extreme conditions. Today, Tilak is one of the few European manufacturers who still maintain local production in the Czech Republic, which means maximum control over quality and precise workmanship.
Premium materials are a matter of course. Gore-Tex guarantees waterproofness, windproofness and breathability in one. Softshell, merino wool and ultralight synthetic insulation keep you warm, whether you're on a glacier or climbing a windy mountain pass. The design is functional, minimalist and perfectly tailored to your movement. No frills, just pure practicality.
The brand is worn by professional mountaineers, soldiers and adventurers who need to steadily deliver maximum performance. Their products are worn by Radek Jaroš, a top Czech climber who has climbed all the world's eight-thousanders in Tilak clothing. Tilak is also a popular choice for expedition teams, mountain leaders and elite emergency services, proving that you can rely on it even in the harshest conditions.
This outdoor apparel has staying power and definitely wasn't made just for flexing on Instagram. No compromises are made here and no half-assed solutions are sought. You get premium quality that you'll appreciate every step of the way. You can rely on the Tilak equally well on a Himalayan expedition or a light autumn trek.
