PLEASURES Grin Hoodie

The evening cools down, friends text you about a concert, and without a second thought, you throw on the black Grin Hoodie from PLEASURES. The bold print and relaxed silhouette make it a piece where you feel like yourself, whether you're standing front row at the stage or chilling with the crew at the bar late into the night.

This hoodie is made from a cotton and polyester blend in a fleece finish, providing cozy warmth inside while maintaining its shape even with frequent wear. The loose fit gives you plenty of room for layering. You can easily pull it over your head, and the elastic cuffs along with the bottom hem sit snugly without any excess. The drawstring hood protects you from the wind, and the kangaroo pocket is perfect for stashing your phone or warming your hands. Pair it with wide jeans or cargo pants and some chunky sneakers for a complete streetwear look. PLEASURES was founded in Los Angeles by Alex James, drawing inspiration from punk, music subcultures, and provocative graphics that aren’t afraid to express an opinion.

Materials

Composition65% Cotton65% CottonThe most popular natural material, extracted from the fruit of the cotton plant. Its main advantage is its extraordinary breathability and ability to absorb moisture, which ensures comfort even when worn all day. The fibre is gentle on the skin, hypoallergenic and, thanks to its high tensile strength, can withstand frequent washing. When wet, its resistance even increases by 20%. It is easy to care for, can withstand high temperatures and is a symbol of quality in modern streetwear, whether in the form of lightweight jersey or durable denim. / 35% Polyester35% PolyesterKey synthetic material valued for its extreme durability, lightweight, and easy maintenance. It's essential in fashion due to its ability to retain shape—products practically resist wrinkling, dry quickly, and are resistant to UV radiation and biological attacks. Polyester fibers are very strong, ensuring long-lasting goods even with frequent wear and washing. Its versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of products, from functional clothing to durable accessories and sturdy shoe components.
MaterialFleeceFleeceFleece is a popular functional material made from fine synthetic fibers. Its surface is specially brushed, creating a dense, soft pile that effectively traps air and insulates body heat. Fleece is lightweight, comfortable against the skin, and stands out for its minimal water absorption and extremely quick drying time. It’s the ideal warm layer for sports, hiking, and cozy moments at home during cold winter months.

PLEASURES: From Underground Lightning to Iconic Streetwear Voice

Some brands emerge from well-prepared business plans, but PLEASURES was born from pure nostalgia, anger, and love for the culture that shaped the '90s generation.

Origins and Roots (2015)

The brand was founded in June 2015 in Los Angeles by Alex James and Vlad Elkin. Alex grew up in New Jersey surrounded by the rise of punk rock, grunge, hip-hop, and the skate community. The name PLEASURES refers not only to joy but also to the visual and emotional legacy of the band Joy Division. From day one, the intention was clear: to create not just clothing, but a medium that captures mood, emotions, and altered states of being.

Cultural Shock and Controversy

PLEASURES gained attention not through quiet advertising but through a visual explosion. The brand quickly made its mark by using provocative yet controversial cultural references. The most famous example became the t-shirt featuring Kurt Cobain's farewell letter and pieces paying tribute to bands like A$AP Yams and Smashing Pumpkins. While others played it safe, PLEASURES transformed music subculture directly into streetwear.

Evolution and Iconic Collaborations

From a small independent project, it rapidly became a global phenomenon. The key to maintaining authenticity has been thoughtful collaborations. PLEASURES has partnered not only with fashion giants but also with icons of pop culture and music:

  • Footwear and Fashion: Crocs, Reebok, Dr. Martens, Puma, Converse

  • Music and Art: Joy Division, New Order, Korn, Playboy, Marilyn Manson

PLEASURES Today Today, PLEASURES is regarded as a cornerstone of the modern streetwear scene. Even though its pieces are sold in top boutiques worldwide, Alex James maintains an independent approach. The brand does not reflect quick TikTok trends—instead, it continuously draws from the visual archive of the '80s and '90s, allowing for a darker, rawer aesthetic.
